Northern Territory Police are investigating the death of a two-year-old child in Katherine last night.

“The family of the two-year-old attended a local Katherine business late yesterday afternoon when they heard a noise and discovered him lying under a tyre,” said Detective Acting Superintendent Chris Board.

“The child was injured and taken to Katherine District Hospital, where he sadly passed away during the night. Officers from the Northern Investigations Section are investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic death.”
