Police from Strike Force Romulus in Alice Springs arrested a 24-year-old man for assaulting a 21-year-old female yesterday.
Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said the man is a Repeat Offender Management (ROM) target.
“The offender allegedly assaulted the female at a business in Todd St on 21 September 2015 and again on 2 December.
“He was recently released from custody after serving four months in the Alice Springs Correctional Centre after assaulting the same female.”
He was charged for the following offences:
- Engage in conduct that contravenes DVO
- Assault a female
He was refused Police bail and will appear in the Alice Springs court today.
“Strike Force Romulus is dedicated to reducing domestic violence assaults by 10% in Alice Springs,” Acting Senior Sergeant Phillips said.
