Eleven Arrested - Crime Spree - Wurrumiyanga

Northern Territory Police have charged eleven people following a series of property offences in the community of Wurrumiyanga.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said Officers from Darwin travelled to the community to assist local members in their investigations.

“In total nine premises were unlawfully entered, some on multiple occasions between 29 December 2015 and 15 January 2016.

Combined, ten males and one female aged between 11 and 21-years-old were charged with:

  • Stealing (x19)
  • Unlawful entry – building (x13)
  • Unlawful entry – dwelling (x6)
  • Damage to property (x4)
  • Receive stolen property (x3)
  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle

Investigations are ongoing.

“We will continue to work together to create a safe and resilient community for all Territorians,” Detective Bland said.
