Foot pursuit and collision - Nightcliff

Northern Territory Police are examining the circumstances of a collision between a Police vehicle and a man now in Police custody for a series of property offences in Nightcliff.

Detective Superintendent Travis Wurst said that at about 3.45pm a middle aged Indigenous male was observed entering a number of properties in Cunjevoi Crescent in Nightcliff.

“Responding police located the man in Progress Drive and a short foot pursuit by uniformed officers began.  Shortly afterwards, the man collided with a marked Police vehicle travelling at a low speed. 

The man was knocked to the ground. He remained conscious complaining of a shoulder injury.”

St John Ambulance provided treatment at the scene, and the man has been released from Royal Darwin Hospital into Police custody.
