Two Youths Charged - Criminal Damage - Muirhead

Police

Members from Strike Force Trident have charged two youths with property offences following an unlawful entry at a construction office in Muirhead.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said Police attended the Lee Point Road construction site yesterday following reports of vandalism.

“Upon arrival, Police were met by a number of witnesses who saw two youths fleeing the area. One of the witnesses managed to chase down a 17-year-old male and hold him until Police arrived.

“A large amount of damage was caused to the premises, with windows and electrical equipment smashed and paint thrown around the room. A vehicle and caravan parked on site were also significantly damaged.

“A 15-year-old male was arrested at a residence a short time later.”

Both youths will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court tomorrow charged with:

  • Unlawful Entry
  • Criminal Damage (x2)
  • Stealing
  • Trespass

“This kind of behaviour is completely senseless. Police would like to thank the members of the public for their assistance in these quick arrests,” said Detective Bland.
