Call for Information – Intruder on Premises – Katherine

Police

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a man allegedly entered a room occupied by a female tourist in Katherine overnight.

Senior Constable Brendan McLinden said a 20-year-old English national was asleep when an unknown male entered her accommodation through an unlocked door about 1am.

“She was woken by the man leaning over her while she slept. She managed to kick him off her and flee into an adjoining room where she alerted a friend,” he said.

“The pair then alerted police.”

The man was described as having dark skin, of light build with short, black hair, no facial hair and possibly only wearing his underwear.

“The victim was uninjured but shaken. This is a timely reminder to always ensure doors are locked when going to sleep,” Senior Constable McLinden said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
