Police

Police would like to remind motorists to slow down after clocking 67 vehicles traveling over the 60km/h speed limit in a Palmerston work zone.

Today, members from the Darwin Traffic Operations conducted speed camera duties on the Stuart Highway Holtze, between 11:30am and 12:30pm.

Within the hour Police clocked 9 drivers traveling 20kms over the speed limit, with the highest recorded speed of 85km/h.

A further 12 vehicles were clocked travelling over 60km/h while 46 vehicles were nabbed travelling between 70 and 80km/h.

This is a timely reminder for motorists to slow down around road works and adhere to the speed limit to ensure worker safety.
