Fraud Charges – Alice Springs

A 40-year-old male has been charged with one count of criminal deception following the execution of a warrant in Alice Springs in February.

Detective Superintendent Travis Wurst said the charge relates to the alleged fraudulent application of the Pensioner and Carer Concession Scheme.

“This is part of an ongoing Police investigation. Other agencies that have been referred to Police through the Interagency Taskforce (IAT), or directly from the Department of Health remain under investigation,” Detective Superintendent Wurst said.

The charge relates to alleged fraudulent activity between 1 July, 2011 and 30 June, 2013.

The male will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 29 April 2016.
