Charges – Attempted Murder – Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police have charged a 46-year-old man in relation to an alleged assault in Tennant Creek.

Detective Senior Constable Luke Dalgliesh said a 38-year-old woman was found with serious injuries about 8pm on Tuesday, 5 April.

“She sustained multiple injuries and was admitted to the Alice Springs Hospital where she is currently in a critical but stable condition,” he said.

Yesterday, Police arrested the man in relation to the assault. He was charged with:

  • Attempted murder
  • Act intended to cause serious harm
  • Assault person preventing injury to another
  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault police (x2)
  • Possess controlled weapon

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Tennant Creek Magistrates Court today.
