Charges – Vandalism – Darwin City

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged an 18-year-old man in relation to a series of vandalism attacks in Darwin City.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Michael Budge from Strike Force Trident said the man was intoxicated when he allegedly smashed shopfront windows of five businesses and a parked car on 14 April.

“The man was disturbed by a cleaner who had heard the glass shattering in the vicinity,” he said.

“The offender fled but was arrested a short distance away. He was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.”

He was charged with six counts of damage to property and bailed to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court at a later date.
