Charges - Aggravated Assault - Wadeye

Northern Territory Police have charged a 20-year-old man following an aggravated assault in Wadeye in the early hours of Monday 2 May 2016.

The offender allegedly caused a 25-year old woman head injuries during the assault.

It is further alleged that the offender also assaulted a Health Clinic worker as the victim was being conveyed from the clinic, causing minor injuries to the worker and damage to a vehicle.

The woman received treatment at Wadeye Health Clinic and has since been released.

Police apprehended the offender without incident just after 10:00am that morning.

The man has been charged with: 

  • Aggravated assault x 2
  • Armed with an offensive weapon x 2
  • Go armed in public x 2
  • Recklessly endangering serious harm - aggravated
  • Assault a worker
  • Damage to property 

The man was remanded in Police custody and will appear in Darwin Local Court today
