Hydroponics Laboratory Dismantled – Karama

Northern Territory Police have issued a 47-year-old man with a Notice to Appear after members dismantled a hydroponics laboratory in Karama yesterday.

Drug and Organised Crime Squad Superintendent Mark Stringer said Drug Detector Dog Leo provided several responses throughout the home.

“Subsequent searches located 128g of cannabis and smoking implements, as well as a pair of knuckle dusters,” he said.

“A hydroponics setup – which was ready to take seedlings – was dismantled from a shed, and a large magnet was also attached to the residence’s power meter in an attempt to tamper with the reading.”

The man was issued a Notice to Appear for:

  • Possess trafficable cannabis
  • Cultivate cannabis
  • Interfere with power supply equipment.
  • Unlawful appropriation of power
  • Possess prohibited weapon
  • Possess thing to administer dangerous drug

He will appear on 12 July 2016.
