Unlawful entry and assault – Katherine

Police are urgently seeking public assistance in relation to an alleged unlawful entry and assault in Katherine this morning.

Senior Constable Mitch Stephens from the Northern Investigation Section said that about 6:00am a house on Fuller Crescent, Katherine South, was entered by an unknown male.

“The occupants were asleep at the time but woke and disturbed the offender who fled towards Elliot Street.

“A child under the age of 10 was assaulted during the unlawful entry,” Senior Constable Stephens said.

The alleged offender is described as of Aboriginal appearance, aged in his late teens or early twenties, of slim build and wearing a red sports singlet.

He also had a distinctive ‘Mohawk’ style haircut with buzz-cut sides and long, wavy dark brown hair on top.
