A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on Trower Road in Rapid Creek this evening.
Watch Commander Acting Senior Sergeant Tanya Mace said that the woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, was hit by a vehicle as she was crossing the road about 7:00pm.
“Witnesses say there was another woman with her, who dragged her off the road before absconding with the woman’s property,” A/Senior Sergeant Mace said.
“The driver is understandably distraught and is assisting police with their investigations. Police are looking for the pedestrian’s companion and we are seeking any information from the public that may be able to assist.”
The Major Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
