Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad are investigating the circumstances around an alleged aggravated assault that occurred on Saturday evening.
Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board said Police allege two males wearing dark clothing and balaclavas drove through a locked gate and entered a residence in Ludmilla about 10:30pm.
“They assaulted a 26-year-old male occupant and ransacked the house in a search for what was believed to be drugs. In the process they damaged furniture and personal belongings of the victim.”
Police were alerted to the incident by neighbours who heard screams and noises coming from the residence.
A 1988 beige single cab Toyota Landcruiser with a flat tray was seen departing the residence and was later recovered in Bayview.
“The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged,” Detective Senior Sergeant Board said.
If you have any information in relation to the incident or may have seen the Toyota Landcruiser is urged to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1300 333 000.
