Methamphetamine Seized – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 61-year-old male following a traffic apprehension in Adelaide River.

Detective Superintendent Matthew Hollamby said drug detection dog Cougar provided a positive response to a Queensland registered Ford Ranger utility as it pulled into a declared drug detection search area on Sunday 3 July.

“A subsequent search of the vehicle located approximately 500 grams of methamphetamine concealed in the roof lining of the vehicle. 

“The driver was arrested today and is currently in custody assisting Police.”

If sold on the streets this seizure could have fetched up to $680,000.
