Man Charged – Deprivation of liberty

Northern Territory Police have charged a 28-year-old man following a number of domestic violence offences.

Constable First Class Carlie Beams of the Family Violence Unit said the man was arrested by general duties members yesterday morning after he was witnessed driving dangerously around the Malak and Karama area.

“A further check of his records revealed he was wanted for prior violence offences.”

He was arrested and charged with:

  • Dangerous driving
  • Drive at excessive speed
  • Drive unlicenced
  • Fail to comply with officers directions
  • Assault
  • Unlawful Entry
  • Deprivation of liberty
  • Aggravated assault
  • Breach DVO
  • Breach of bail

He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
