Northern Territory Police continue to investigate the indent that resulted in the death of a 34-year-old female in a grassed area on Casuarina Drive yesterday.

A 37-year-old male remains in police custody and is expected to be interviewed later tonight.

Police can now confirm that the male that was involved in the disturbance with the deceased female was also involved in a second disturbance with at least one Aboriginal male a short time after the initial disturbance.

Detective Senior Sergeant Lee Morgan said, “a number of people stopped and offered assistance while CPR was being performed on the female. 

“If you are one of these people or you were in the area and saw what was occurring and you have not yet spoken to police please contact police on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.” 

Alternatively, Police will be in the area that the incident occurred between 8:30am and 3:00pm on Saturday 30 July to speak with witnesses. 

“It is critical to the investigation that police speak to every person that witnessed this tragic event,” Senior Sergeant Morgan said.
