Serious Crime Squad Detectives have charged a 27-year-old man in relation to a robbery in Darwin City in July.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board said information from the public lead to his arrest.

The incident occurred about 9pm on Thursday 28 July 2016, on the corner of Mitchell Street and Peel Street.

The victim was making a withdrawal at an ATM when the offender allegedly assaulted him, before fleeing with a sum of cash.

“Detectives would like to thank the public for information provided during the investigation which resulted in yesterday’s arrest,” Detective Senior Sergeant Board said.

He has been charged with robbery and remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court this morning.
