Three Charged - Methamphetamine and Cocaine Seized - Darwin

Members from the Organised Crime Division have charged two men and a woman following the seizure of a quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said around 6:00pm yesterday, Police conducted a search on a vehicle following an operation into the supply of illicit substances in the Territory.

“Police located 10 grams of methamphetamine and arrested the 39-year-old driver. He was charged with possession of a traffickable quantity of methamphetamine and possession of thing to administer a dangerous drug.

“Later that night, Police executed a search warrant at a Wagaman residence. Members seized 170 grams of methamphetamine along with 84 grams of cocaine, and a 38-calibre pistol.

 “More than $52,000 cash was also seized, Police will allege this was from the proceeds of crime.”

 A 21-year-old female was charged with: 

  • Supply methamphetamine – commercial quantity
  • Possess methamphetamine – commercial quantity
  • Supply cocaine  – commercial quantity
  • Possess cocaine – commercial quantity
  • Possess thing to administer drug
  • Receive property used in commission of crime
  • Possess / use firearm whilst unlicensed
  • Possess unregistered firearm
  • Possess ammunition without licence

A 32-year-old male was charged with:

  • Supply methamphetamine – commercial quantity
  • Possess methamphetamine – commercial quantity
  • Supply cocaine  – commercial quantity
  • Possess cocaine – commercial quantity
  • Possess thing to administer drug
  • Drive uninsured
  • Drive unregistered
  • Receive property used in commission of crime
  • Possess / use firearm whilst unlicensed
  • Possess unregistered firearm
  • Possess ammunition without licence

Police will allege all three individuals were known to each other.

They will appear in Darwin Local Court today.

“This is a significant seizure for the Northern Territory Police, who will continue to target and disrupt criminal groups who traffick dangerous drugs into the community,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer.

“If sold on the streets of Darwin this haul could fetch a total of $274,000.”
