Charges – Assault Police – Kalkaringi

Northern Territory Police have charged a 24-year-old man after he allegedly threw a rock at a Police officer investigating a separate incident at Kalkaringi about 11:00pm Saturday.

Arnhem and Western Division Superintendent Craig Barrett said the officer suffered only minor injuries.

“After throwing the rock, the alleged offender then fled the scene and was located and arrested the next morning without incident,” he said.

The man was charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault a member of the police force
  • Armed with an offensive weapon at night
  • Damage to property

He was remanded in custody to appear in Katherine Local Court this morning.
