Charges – Indecent Assault – Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police have charged a 27-year-old man and are seeking three other men in relation to several alleged incidents of indecent assault involving a 15-year-old girl on Saturday, 3 September.

Senior Constable Paul Parkanyi said it is believed the assaults occurred between 6:30pm and 7:30pm at the burn out competition at the Alice Springs Inland Dragway.

“Police understand the girl was approached on a number of occasions by separate groups of males who indecently assaulted her,” he said.

The 27-year-old man was charged with:

  • Aggravated assault – indecent assault child under 16 years

He is due to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 11October 2016.

“Police are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the assaults, to help identify the other offenders,” Senior Constable Paul Parkanyi said.

“We are particularly interested in a male who is described as Caucasian, in his late 30s to 40s, with short dark hair with large distinctive circular earrings, known as ‘stretchers’.”
