Public Assistance Sought - Death - Nightcliff

Detectives from the Major Crime Squad are seeking public assistance in relation to a possible disturbance on the Nightcliff foreshore on Monday 12 September 2016.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Tony Henrys said a 41-year-old indigenous female has died as a result of injuries received.

“The woman was located near the playground area near Aralia Street at 5:30pm, Monday 12 September.

“She had head injuries consistent with a fall or assault and died on 15 September.

“Initial investigations have determined the woman was in the company of a group of people during the course of the afternoon before she was found by Police.

“We are asking anyone who may have been in the area between 3:00pm and 5:30pm on 12 September and who may have seen the woman or witnessed a disturbance in that timeframe to please contact Police on 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Henrys said.

The woman was wearing a white t-shirt, a skirt and had light coloured wavy hair.
