Major Crash Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash that led to the death of a female overnight.
Acting Superintendent Serge Bouma said police attended a single vehicle crash that occurred around 8.20pm on the Roper Highway.
“There were six people in the vehicle, a female, yet to be identified, died at the scene. Four others were conveyed to Katherine Hospital for treatment,” he said.
“A 48-year-old male was arrested and is currently assisting police with further enquiries,”
Investigations are ongoing, however, police believe alcohol may be a contributing factor.
