Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an assault that occurred in Katherine yesterday.

Detective Acting Superintendent Meghan Funnell said at 5pm police were alerted to a female being assaulted by a male at 50 Cent Park on Katherine Terrance.

“As a result of the assault the female suffered facial injuries,” she said.

“A male was arrested at the scene. Police are calling for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.”
