Charges – Assault a Police Officer – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a 28-year-old male for assaulting a member of the Police Force.

Senior Sergeant Michael Williams said around 9.45pm last night police attended an address in Ilparpa in relation to a disturbance.

“A 28-year-old male on the scene became increasingly aggressive before allegedly bitting a police officer on the finger,” Senior Sergeant Williams said.

“The officer received a minor wound however the tests that go with this kind of injury are lengthy and can cause some stress.”

The male has been charged with assault police and will face Alice Springs Local Court today
