Charges - Robbery – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a 23-year-old male following the alleged robbery of a 75-year-old man in Alice Springs yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Allan Milner said that the incident occurred about 9:15am at an ATM outside a shopping centre on Todd St.

“The offender pushed the elderly man out of the way of the ATM and stole $200 in cash, before fleeing down the Todd Mall,” he said.

“The offender was arrested at about 1:10pm.

“Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in identifying the offender.”

He was charged with robbery and remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Court today.
