Cross Border Team – Man Charged

Police

The Cross Border Team has arrested a 27-year-old male target in relation to an aggravated assault committed in February 2015 in South Australia.

Detective Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips of the Southern Investigation Division said the alleged offender was identified through Cross Border intelligence sharing relating to high risk domestic violence offences.

“An operation was conducted from Thursday 10 November until Sunday 13 November,” he said.

“This is another successful example of how the Cross Border Team is able to apprehend offenders who travel interstate in their efforts to evade police.

“Apprehending those who commit domestic violence continues to be a priority for the Northern Territory Police and the Cross Border Teams.”

He was charged with aggravated assault (NT) and aggravated assault weapon (SA).

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today.
