Northern Territory Police have charged two men following a traffic apprehension in Katherine overnight.
Detective Sergeant Ian Kennon said the men were pulled over on the Stuart Highway, 10 km south of Hayes Creek just before 1:00am.
“Drug detector dog Nikki gave a positive response to the rear of the vehicle, where Police will allege they located just under a kilogram of cannabis in cryovac bags.
“Upon a further search of the vehicle, Police allegedly located a small quantity of methamphetamine and an ice pipe.”
A 24-year-old was charged with possession and supply of a commercial quantity of cannabis, possession of methamphetamine in a public place and possession of thing to administer dangerous drug.
A 41-year-old was charged with possession and supply of a commercial quantity of cannabis and possession of thing to administer dangerous drug.
Both men were remanded in custody to appear in Katherine local court tomorrow.
