Northern Territory Police have charged a16-year-old male for driving a vehicle at dangerous speeds whilst unlicensed yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Conan Robertson said that the youth was apprehended about 4:30pm at East Side.
“Police will allege that the youth was driving 107kms in a 60km zone on Woods Tce,” he said.
“The vehicle he was driving was unregistered and uninsured.”
He was charged with:
- Drive a motor vehicle while unlicensed
- Drive unregistered motor vehicle
- Drive uninsured motor vehicle
- Drive at a speed and manner dangerous
He will be summoned to appear in The Alice Springs youth court.
“Speed has been identified as a causative factor in many of our road crashes. Driving this fast in a built up residential area is reckless and puts us all at risk, please stay under the speed limit and be safe behind the wheel.”
