Youths Arrested - Criminal Damage - Rosebery

Police

Northern Territory Police have arrested three male youths following a crime series in Palmerston this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan from Strike Force Trident said police will allege the youths were involved in a number of traffic and property offences, including dangerous driving and damage to two ovals.

“Throughout the morning police received a number of reports from concerned members of the public about a stolen motor vehicle driving erratically around the Palmerston area, including at school precincts and the Moulden Park oval.

“Just after 8:00am another report came in of the same vehicle driving erratically around Rosebery middle school oval causing damage to the grounds.

“The vehicle of interest was sighted at a service station in Bakewell. Police attended, and swiftly arrested the three offenders.

“During the arrest, a 12-year-old offender was tasered by police.

“It is extremely lucky that these offenders were quickly arrested by police. With such reckless driving in close proximity to schools at drop off time, we are very fortunate that no children were injured or killed.”

The youths, aged 12, 13 and 15 are currently in custody assisting police with enquires.

They are expected to be charged later today.
