Call for Information – Death – Aileron

Northern Territory Police continue to call for information in relation to the death of a 33-year-old French tourist near Aileron.

Detective Superintendent Travis Wurst said the victim died after he was stabbed in an unprovoked attack yesterday.

“Today, police arrested a 35-year-old man in relation to the death. He is currently in custody and will be interviewed in due course.”

Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who was in the Connor Well rest area yesterday afternoon to contact them.

“It is believed the offender was driving a gunmetal grey Hyundai i20 hatchback, Victorian registration 1HU 1CC,” said Detective Superintendent Wurst.

“The victims were driving a 1998 maroon Toyota Rav4.

“We are extremely interested in speaking with anyone who may have sighted either vehicle, or had contact with any of the occupants of these cars in the days leading up to yesterday’s incident.”
