Northern Territory Police are currently investigating an alleged assault that occurred in Tennant Creek early this morning.
Police can confirm around 3:20am an unknown man unlawfully entered a residence near Tennant Creek Hospital and assaulted a female occupant.
The man is described as being of Indigenous appearance, skinny build and approximately 175cm tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing brown coloured shorts, a light coloured t-shirt, with a large pattern on the front that was pulled up covering his face. He was also wearing dark coloured shoes with light soles and light coloured laces.

The victim is in a stable condition.
