Northern Territory Police have charged a 36-year-old Brisbane man and seized a quantity of methamphetamine in Darwin.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Crispin Gargan said the man was searched by members of the Organised Crime Division as he disembarked a flight from Sydney overnight.
“He was found with 100grams of methamphetamine concealed in his underwear, along with a small quantity of Viagra.”
Upon being apprehended, the male resisted arrest and had to be restrained.
He was charged with:
- Supply and possess a commercial quantity of schedule 1 dangerous drug,
- Unauthorised possession of a schedule 4 substance,
- Resist police in execution of duty.
He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
“This is a significant seizure for NT Police, if sold on the streets of Darwin this haul could fetch up to $120,000,” said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Gargan.
“Northern Territory Police will continue to target those who traffick these illicit substances into our Community.”
