Police seize 100grams of Methamphetamine - Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged a 36-year-old Brisbane man and seized a quantity of methamphetamine in Darwin.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Crispin Gargan said the man was searched by members of the Organised Crime Division as he disembarked a flight from Sydney overnight.

“He was found with 100grams of methamphetamine concealed in his underwear, along with a small quantity of Viagra.”

Upon being apprehended, the male resisted arrest and had to be restrained.

He was charged with:

  • Supply and possess a commercial quantity of schedule 1 dangerous drug,
  • Unauthorised possession of a schedule 4 substance,
  • Resist police in execution of duty.

He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.

“This is a significant seizure for NT Police, if sold on the streets of Darwin this haul could fetch up to $120,000,” said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Gargan.

“Northern Territory Police will continue to target those who traffick these illicit substances into our Community.”
