Serious Crime Detectives are requesting public assistance following a suspicious fire in Yarrawonga this morning.

Detective Acting Sergeant Toby Wilson said the fire caused substantial damage to the ‘Tattoo Crew’ studio in Mckenzie Place.

“At 5:20 am a security guard came across the blaze whilst conducting routine patrols. NT Fire and rescue were called and the fire was extinguished. Fire crews confirmed the fire was deliberately lit. 

“General duties, Crime Scene examiners and Serious Crime Detectives attended the scene. 

“Investigations reveal that an incendiary device similar to a Molotov cocktail was used to start the fire. Adjoining businesses were not damaged.

“No persons were injured as a result of the fire and investigations are continuing,” Detective Acting Sergeant Wilson said.
