Dangerous Driving – Charges Laid

A 34-year-old man has been charged with traffic offences in regard to his actions when challenged by police on 2 January.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Tony Henrys said police will allege the male committed the offences while driving the vehicle of interest in the hit and run death of a man on New Year’s Eve.

The man was arrested in Darwin yesterday afternoon.

“The male remains a suspect in regard to the death of Jason McCormick. Our investigation is on-going and we are resolved in our pursuit of justice for Mr McCormick, his family and friends.” Detective acting Senior Sergeant said.

He was charged with:

  • Recklessly endangering  serious harm
  • Driving a vehicle in a dangerous manner
  • Driving a motor vehicle while disqualified

He was remanded to appear in the Darwin Local Court tomorrow.
