The body of an elderly male has been found at Trephina Gorge National Park northeast of Alice Springs.

Sergeant Philip Emmett said that the man was located about 12:00 today during a search for missing German tourists who had strayed from park walking trails.

Northern Territory Police, Emergency Service and Parks and Wildlife Rangers continue to search for the missing female.
