Charges – Property Crime – Alice Springs

Members from Strike Force Winx have charged a 15-year-old male for a range of property crimes in Alice Springs.

Detective Superintendent Michael White said that the incidents occurred between 17 February and 26 February this year.

“It is alleged that the offender was involved in five unlawful entries to businesses and several other incidents with a group of co-offenders. Some of these co-offenders have already been arrested,” he said.

“On 24 February, the offender allegedly caused damage to a police vehicle by jumping on the windscreen.

“One of the charges involved an aggravated robbery on an 87-year-old woman on Winnecke Avenue on 17 February.”

The youth was charged with:

  • Aggravated robbery
  • Aggravated unlawful entry - dwelling
  • Unlawful entry – building (x5)
  • Attempted unlawful entry – building (x2)
  • Stealing (x5)
  • Damage to property (x10)
  • Trespass

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today.
