Northern Territory Police have charged a 23-year-old man in relation to a string of offending across the Darwin area.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Bland from Strike Force Trident said the man was arrested at a service station in Karama last night.
“During the apprehension process, officers from the Territory Response Group deployed a taser as he was attempting to get into the driver’s seat of a car.
“He was then taken into custody.”
A sawn-off firearm was later found hidden in a garden at a residence in Palmerston.
He was charged with:
- Drive unlicensed (x3)
- Drive vehicle in a dangerous manner (x2)
- Drive speed dangerous
- Recklessly endanger life
- Assault a member of the Police Force
- Resist Police
- Furnish false name
- Attempt to commit an offence (Escape lawful custody)
- Breach of Bail (Supreme Court Bail)
