Major Crime detectives are investigating circumstances around the death of a 46-year-old female in Nhulunbuy.

Police received a call at 10:00pm last night saying a female had been found deceased on Town Beach.

Major Crime Detectives and Crime Scene Examiners travelled to Nhulunbuy this morning and are currently working to establish the woman’s movements prior to her death.

“The matter will be treated as suspicious until we are convinced that no other person played a part in the woman’s death,” Detective Senior Sergeant Lee Morgan said.
