Charges – Kava Seizure – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged two men aged 48 and 46 after they were allegedly caught with 45kg of kava in Darwin this week.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer of the Organised Crime Division said the drug was allegedly divided into hundreds of clip seal bags ready for sale.

The pair were arrested following a traffic apprehension in The Narrows and charged with possession and supply of a commercial quantity of kava.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
