Northern Territory Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on the Ross Highway, near Alice Springs.
Just before 9:00am police received reports of a burnt out vehicle on the side of the Ross Highway, 12kms from the Ross River homestead.
On arrival, police located a person deceased within the vehicle.
Investigations into the exact circumstances of the crash are ongoing, however early indications suggest the vehicle has left the roadway and rolled before catching on fire.
The deceased is yet to be formally identified.
The Territory Road toll now stands at 11 compared to 13 this time last year.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
