Northern Territory Police have charged four male youths following a series of alleged property and traffic offences.
Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan said the youths were arrested on Thursday 1 June following the theft of a gold Audi Q7 from a residence in Leanyer.
“The youths were also questioned and charged in relation to the theft of food from a service station in Darwin CBD, fishing equipment from a boat in Durack and a wallet from a vehicle parked in Farrar.
“Throughout Thursday, the youths were seen by police driving the Audi Q7 throughout the Darwin area. A tyre deflation device was used to stop vehicle in Palmerston and all four were arrested.”
Combined, the youths, aged 12, 14, 15 and 16 were charged with:
- Unlawful entry (x9)
- Stealing (x17)
- Trespass (x4)
- Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle (x4)
The 14-year-old was further charged with damage to property.
Three of the four were also charged with breach of bail.
They will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court today.
