Charges – Methamphetamine – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged two men in relation to the seizure of more than 100g of methamphetamine over a 10-month period.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer from the Organised Crime Division said a 35-year-old man purchased the drugs over the dark web.

“Investigations led police to a Nakara home. On police arrival, a 32-year-old man fled. He was later arrested in Winnellie,” he said.

A search warrant was conducted at the 35-year-old’s residence in Marrara, where he was arrested.

The 35-year-old man was charged with:

  • Supply commercial quantity schedule 1 drug
  • Possession schedule 1 drug
  • Possession of a schedule 2 drug
  • Deal with the proceeds of crime

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

The 32-year-old man was charged with:

  • Supply methamphetamine - trafficable
  • Escape lawful custody.

He was bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on Monday.
