Members from the Southern Serious Crime Squad have charged a 45-year-old woman and her 16-year-old son with arson following a house fire in Alice Springs.

Detective Acting Superintendent Peter Dash said the fire occurred on Dixon Road on 17 June 2017.

The 45-year-old woman was also charged with criminal deception.

The youth was bailed to appear in Alice Springs Youth Justice Courts on 4 August, while the 45-year-old was remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Local Court today.
