Firearms Recovered – Central Desert

Police

Northern Territory Police have recovered three firearms stolen from the Finke Police Station on 25 August 2017.

Four men have been charged in relation to the incident.

The .22 Bruno CZ rifle was located at Yuendumu on Tuesday 29 August and the .308 Remington 700 was located in Ernabella, South Australia last Friday.

The 12G Remington shotgun was located yesterday at Charles Creek Camp, in Alice Springs.

A 19-year-old male was charged with:

  • Unlawful entry – building
  • Unlawful entry – dwelling
  • Damage to property
  • Stealing
  • Possess use or carry a prohibited weapon
  • Possess / use firearm whilst unlicensed
  • Possess ammunition without a permit license.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 1 September.

A 23-year-old male was charged with:

  • Unlawful entry – building (x2)
  • Unlawful entry – dwelling
  • Damage to property (x2)
  • Stealing (x2)
  • Possess use or carry a prohibited weapon
  • Possess / use firearm whilst unlicensed
  • Possess ammunition without a permit license.

 

He has been bailed to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 5 September.

A 16-year-old male was charged with:

  • Unlawful entry – building
  • Unlawful entry – dwelling
  • Damage to property
  • Stealing
  • Possess use or carry a prohibited weapon
  • Possess / use firearm whilst unlicensed
  • Possess ammunition without a permit license.

He has been bailed to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 15 September.

A 20-year-old male was charged with:

  • Unlawful entry (x6)
  • Damage to property (x7)
  • Attempt unlawful entry 
  • Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 11 September.
