Northern Territory Police are calling for information on an assault which occurred in the early hours of this morning.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant David Allan of the Serious Crime Squad said a male was assaulted in the drive-through of a fast food restaurant in Stuart Park about 2.30am.

“The male was allegedly causing a disturbance. Witnessing this, another man got out of a taxi and allegedly assaulted him,” he said.

“The victim has fallen to the ground and struck his head, causing injuries.”

The attacker has then administered assistance, but later left the scene.

The victim is in a critical condition in Royal Darwin Hospital.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Allan said police are now reviewing CCTV from the taxi and the restaurant.
