Man arrested – Pursuit – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 28-year-old male following a pursuit in Darwin early this morning.

Acting Senior Sergeant Kaye Pemberton said the incident occurred just after 4:00am.

“A police officer was traveling on Bagot Road when he noticed a stolen Nissan Micra being driven erratically.

“The officer attempted to apprehend the vehicle, which failed to stop, initiating a pursuit.

“The vehicle was followed to Amaroo Road, where the driver conducted a U-turn and rammed the police vehicle. Three males then exited the Nissan and fled the scene.

“A foot pursuit commenced with one of the males arrested on Shiers Street. He is currently in police custody, yet to be charged.

 

“Both vehicle sustained significant damage during the incident.”

 

Investigations into the identity of the outstanding two offenders are ongoing.
