Criminal Damage - Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police are investigating a report of criminal damage which occurred around 4:40am this morning at a car yard in Alice Springs.

16 vehicles received damage in this morning’s incident. At this stage the cost of the damage is still being determined.

Police have identified several youths from CCTV footage who are yet to be located and spoken to.

Acting Superintendent Pauline Vicary said police take these incidents very seriously and it’s disappointing that a small group of young people in our community behave in this manner.

“We will investigate the incident and work with families and support agencies in an attempt to divert these young people into more positive behaviours and activities in an attempt to prevent these offences occurring. These incidents impact significantly on local businesses and police will continue to support our business community to reduce these incidents,” she said.

Police are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of the car yard around this time who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 131 444 or call the Crime Stoppers number on 1800 333 000.
