Arrest - Methamphetamine Seized - Darwin

Members of the Drug and Organised Crime Division have arrested a 44-year-old Queensland woman found in possession of a commercial amount of crystal methamphetamine.

The woman was arrested at Darwin airport early Wednesday morning after being found with a small amount of crystal methamphetamine. Following a medical examination, a further 112 grams of crystal methamphetamine and a small quantity of heroin was located.

Superintendent Pollock, Drug and Organised Crime Division, states “Despite the extraordinary efforts people go to bring illicit drugs into the Northern Territory, we will continue to target those who intend to do our community harm”.

She has been charged with:

  • Supply commercial schedule 1 dangerous drug
  • Possess less than trafficable schedule 1 dangerous drug in public (2 counts)

The woman is due to appear in court at a later date.
